Ancient Egypt Game!!!
Welcome amateur Egyptologists!!! You have been asked by a major game company to create a board game to help students learn all about Egypt. The game will be targeted to grade 7 students from all across Canada. This is a great opportunity for the students of Don Christian to demonstrate what they have learned over the past months. You will have several class periods to work on this game and the due date for submission is _______. Unfortunately, late submissions will not be accepted by the company or me. I’ve enclosed the criteria that I received below.

Time for completion: Exactly 2½ weeks. Due
Game board size: No larger than a regular desktop as it must be able to be played in a classroom. Fold outs, three-dimensional and oddly shaped game boards are acceptable. Game board quality is important!!! It must be a finished, presentation quality piece.
Game pieces: Any are fine. Must not be purchased! All pieces related to the game must be attached to the game board.
Game play: Game should be playable for 2 to 4 players. Rules should be clear and look professional (typed).
Game focus: Your game should use the terms and concepts that we have learned in class. It should provide the player with an opportunity to learn as well as have fun! The use of interesting facts as part of the game will be considered. As well, the game manufacturer has requested a 3-D element to the games. Be creative with your designs!!
Grading
Uses concepts learned in class -- 8 marks
Game playability -- 4 marks
Game presentation -- 4 marks

7 Wonders of Egypt Project
This project will give you a chance to learn more about one of the Wonders of Ancient Egypt. On your project paper, you will demonstrate your learning by providing most (but maybe not all) of the following information:
Also include a couple of labelled pictures (a hand-drawn / coloured picture must be prominent). You may choose to select a cross-section diagram, as well as side- or top-views.

A World of Great Ideas! (Grade 6)
The world is full of great ideas – Hot Chocolate, Democracy, Circle Graphs, Ponchos, Bicycles, Astronomy, Music, Paper to name a few. What makes a great idea? Who thinks of these things? How are they important to us today? Some great questions – let’s explore!
Your job is to choose a great idea – whether it be something invented, something built, a “big” idea or a common every day item – and do some research into it. What you find might just surprise you. Remember to keep an inquiring mind – ask lots of questions and look for your answers.
Information to include in your report (Use headings):
Make sure you research and include lots of facts (you may use point form notes if it helps – please remember not to plagiarize!)
Include pictures and / or illustrations – at least one main picture needs to be hand-drawn.
Be sure to have a neat title at the top of the poster page
**All your information and drawings need to fit on the poster page provided. Anything off the page will not be marked**

- Who built the Wonder? Who commissioned it; who was the architect? (Research the person for additional information – short biography)
- When and where was it built? (Include a map as well)
- Why was it built? What was its importance in Ancient Egypt?
- Describe the Ancient Wonder. (refer to your pictures / diagrams)
- Why did you choose this Wonder?
- Any other interesting facts about your Wonder.
Also include a couple of labelled pictures (a hand-drawn / coloured picture must be prominent). You may choose to select a cross-section diagram, as well as side- or top-views.
Remember:
- Organise your project so everything fits neatly on your page – use labels and titles.
- Ensure there is adequate researched information in each section.
- Write everything in your own words – do not plagiarise!! Point-form information is permitted – ensure adequate detail!
- You may work with a partner, but choose your partner carefully!
